Got a Sense of Humor? You’ll Need it at Despair, Inc.

Are you a fan of the "Successories (TM)" product line? Well, get over it! There's an opposing camp of demotivators called "Despair, Inc. (TM)" and it is a hoot! You have to have a sense of humor to appreciate the product line and site – especially the FAQs. Dr. E.L. Kersten, the founder, is a real person. You can purchase the book, "The Rise of Mr. Ponzi", by Charles Ponzi, from the site (for real!) The irony, sarcasm, insults (in a nice way), and tongue-in-cheek messages are excellent. I love this stuff.
Actual Names of Professionals

On of the e-groups to which I belong, someone recently asked for a recommendation for a doctor in our local area. Another list member suggested a doctor whom her family uses, and the name was rather interesting for that type of doctor. Soon lots of people on the list shared names of professionals – beyond doctors – whom they either know, use, or know to be “real people”. The list got to be so humorous that I decided to compile the list to this blog. Remember that these are real folks!
Right Writeful Style Guide (Tongue-In-Cheek)

A friend sent this to me. If this makes you laugh, then you "get" it and already understand rules for writing well. If the following does not make you smile, then grab a copy of the Chicago Manual of Style or an online facsimile and start studying. I suggest you keep a dictionary, thesaurus, style guide, and instant word guide readily available anyway. I use all of these – hard copy and online – constantly. Enjoy!
Foot-In-Mouth Syndrome…Innoculate Yourself Now

There's buzz about "hoof-and-mouth" disease. (Anyone remember the television program "Boston Legal" with William Shatner's character suffering from what he called "mad cow disease"?)
What about "put-foot-in-mouth" syndrome? Most of us periodically have bouts of this syndrome. The cause is typically that we open our mouths and speak before our brains catch up to us to tell us that what comes out of our mouths might best be re-phrased (or not leave our lips at all).
Eight Irresistible Principles of Fun

One of the topics I cover in my workshop is work-life balance. Within that topic we use a life wheel to map areas in life that need more focus than others. One of those areas is "Fun/Recreation". While researching some information on this area I found a great web video on "Eight Irresistible Principles of Fun".
Check it out. It's a nice relief from some of the videos I'm finding at the usual video site.
